From Civitas
Good work deserves better tools.
Civitas is building a clearer workspace for the people who follow policy and turn it into action.
Public affairs is people work.
Reading carefully. Asking good questions. Explaining what a change means. Helping a team decide what to do next.
None of that gets better when the tools make you start over every morning.
We’re building Civitas to make the everyday work easier to carry: legislation, context, and the next step, together in one place. Our starting point is the legislative workflow. Our audience is the team that needs useful software, a legible price, and fewer loose ends.
A few things we believe
01. Small teams deserve capable tools.
A small staff does not mean a small responsibility. Software should respect the time of the person who reads the bill, writes the update, and answers the member’s question.
02. The source belongs close to the story.
A confident-looking summary is not enough. People need to inspect the record, understand its context, and see when something is missing.
03. Show the work.
Our product tour uses real interface captures. We describe the planned offer plainly and separate it from what is still being verified. We would rather make the limits understandable than hide them in an asterisk.
04. A price should be a number.
The planned legislative subscription is $99 per organization per month, including ten seats. You should be able to discuss it with your team without first sitting through a sales presentation.
05. Useful beats impressive.
A shared docket that helps someone make a good decision is worth more than a dashboard full of numbers no one uses. That is the standard we want to build toward.
