Password, two-factor sign-in and recovery codes

Find the existing sign-in recovery flow and understand the unproven two-factor and recovery-code limits.

Password and sign-in help

Use the password-reset link offered by the sign-in flow if you cannot sign in. Enter the account's email, follow the email link and wait for a confirmed reset. An accepted request is not proof that the reset email reached your mailbox. Check junk mail and contact support if the link cannot be used.

Account Settings contains a two-factor setup interface with a current-password field, authenticator setup and code verification. Its presence does not establish a complete, accepted hosted setup or recovery journey. Confirm the current availability and recovery procedure before changing account security.

Current limits

Recovery-code behavior remains unaccepted under #1216. The current source includes setup and code-handling paths; this guide does not promise that a displayed code is durable, usable or a sufficient fallback. Do not rely on recovery codes or disable an existing working factor based on this draft. Never send support a password, authenticator secret, setup link, verification token or recovery code. Support cannot infer account access from a help-center message alone.
