Why did I not get an alert?

Check the event, rule, preferences and delivery status before assuming an alert should have arrived.

Check the chain

  1. Confirm the bill and event at the official source, then check whether Civitas has ingested that event for the same jurisdiction and session.
  2. Reopen the saved bill or keyword rule. Check its enabled state, keyword or event selection, jurisdiction and channel. Existing keyword matches are not backfilled when you save a new rule.
  3. Review Notifications and its preferences. Email switched off, an unsubscribe, a digest cadence or quiet hours can prevent or defer an email even when an in-app item exists.
  4. Inspect the Inbox and available alert or delivery history. Read the actual status and error rather than treating a saved rule, queued item or provider acceptance as proof of mailbox delivery.
  5. Check your junk folder. If the problem continues, send support the bill's public identifier, approximate event time, expected channel and a description of the status you saw.

Current limits

There is no delivery-time guarantee. Missing history can mean a read failed; retry it rather than treating the empty panel as proof of no event. Do not repeatedly recreate rules to force a send. Do not send support account tokens, private document contents or passwords.
