Read a bill: text, versions and what changed

Read the stored print, compare only available versions, and keep browser notes separate from shared records.

Read and compare

  1. Open the bill reader and check the bill and Bill version selector. Use Source or View official print to verify the official document when linked.
  2. Use Contents or Find a section to navigate the stored text. Check which print is selected before making a note about its wording.
  3. Where two stored versions of the same bill are available, choose the older and newer versions in the comparison view. Inspect the passages around each change, not just the highlighted words.
  4. For reader notes, select a passage and choose Highlight or Add note. The reader says these notes are saved in this browser. Keep a separate shared record when colleagues need the explanation.

Current limits

No published text, No available versions or one stored version is a real limit, not a completed comparison. Missing text requires reading the official source. Browser highlights are not an organization-wide record or a reliable backup across devices. Suggested related bills match title keywords; they do not establish a legal relationship. Confirm consequential interpretations and changes against the official print.
