Upload and read a document

Ingest a supported file, wait for extraction and retry failed document reads without inventing content.

Ingest and read

  1. In the PolicySense library, choose Ingest and select or drop a document you are authorized to use. The source supports PDF, HTML, Markdown and plain text.
  2. Review the chosen filename and size. The ingest control limits a file to 25 MB; split or compress an oversized file. Export a Word document to a supported format first.
  3. Submit the ingest action and wait for successful extraction on the server. A file selected in your browser is not yet a saved, readable document.
  4. Open the resulting document. Use its reader navigation to inspect the extracted structure and check key passages against the original file.
  5. If a read fails, use Retry and wait for the completed read. Keep the source file so you can distinguish missing extraction from missing original content.

Current limits

Accepting a file extension or finishing an upload does not prove accurate extraction. The reader can show genuine errors or missing text. This guide is source-checked, not a hosted ingest acceptance result. Do not upload sensitive material to an unverified workspace just to test the interface.
